Re: Biocontrol/Flies
I started using biocontrol for flies Dec. '98. I started with a mega dose
and continue to spread larvae every month like clockwork. I truly don't
anticipate to see a change in a year.........I live on a rim canal and the
wetlands are directly behind my property. I am presently using Spalding Labs
for larvae....unfortunately, as I undertand it, this larvae is for the
generic black fly, housefly. Not for the creatures I am also experiencing
here in the swamp.......some of which look like they just came out of a "B"
movie.....like those old Japanese horror flicks. Anyway, I am hoping that
the fly larvae will help somewhat over time. There used to be another
company ....which may have been called " Biocontrol" ( go figure) anyway , I
can't locate them again, but it would be nice to do so. They would discuss
your type of fly problem and recommend the types of "Bio" treatments and the
amounts needed based on your envriroment and problems. I did use garlic
for two years, from Springtime , Inc. My horses and dogs loved it, but I saw
no change at all in the flies, fleas, or summer itch problem , so I am now
using bugs! I would continue with the garlic if I could afford to do
so......just can't.
