Just thought I'd gloat a little... in northern Idaho, at least where I'm at, 
we're not bothered by ticks much (I've never seen one here... maybe in the 
higher elevations?), I've never seen a flea on my dog or cat, there are no 
poisonous snakes, no poisonous spiders (though the "aggressive house spider" 
can deliver a painful bite), no roaches, few mosquitos or horseflies, no 
killer bees.  And all the dirt bikers on the mountain I ride stop and often 
shut their engines off when I go by on my horse!
