I have to agree with Heidi here on the reaction to shots issue.  I used 
to give one of my horses a Bute after immunizations because he developed 
a fever and neck swelling so he couldn't even graze.  After listening to 
a homeopathic vet at the ECTRA convention one year I now give my own 
immunizations.  This way I can spread them out one at a time and I have 
not had any problems with the Bayer brand.  Also a homeopathic medicine 
called Ledum Pal can be used insead of Bute and it is effective.  But 
now that I give them myself I no longer even need to give him the Ledum. 
I have the vet do the Coggins and Rabies early in the spring, actually 
late Feb. so I have lots of time to spread the other immunizations out 
before my first ride the first weekend in April.
