Hi Teddy,

We met in Manitoba - and that's where I live. Heart monitor working
great btw, thanks!!!

You find all the ticks on your head because they climb up there - they
tend to keep going until they either get to the top or find a nice
sheltered (hairy) place to plant themselves.

I've done quite a bit of investigation as to tick habits - and there are
quite a few common misconceptions like this one.

Best bet is to keep socks pulled over pants and shirts tucked in so they
can't get under the clothing - that way you have a better chance of
seeing them and picking them off before they "go to your head".

Another note - ticks never crawl "down". You can test this by putting
one on your finger and turning your hand upside down. They will
immediately change course and go up.

Lovely little creatures aren't they!!!

Kelli
