Re: training question



Like Sharon, I shorten a rein while mounting.  It is a good habit to
form should the horse spook in the middle of getting on.  but I shorten
the outside rein.  The rein opposite of the side I am mounting so if the
horse moves off, they move INTO you instead of away, making it easier to
get on and then continue the circle.  Then I dismount and do it again
till horse stands for mounting.
