Yeah, there is one at our pasture over our fence.  Wish it wasn't there, I'd
rather go through the gates.  A stile is an invitation to all those horrible
little (and not so little) kids in town!  BUT, as to a horse hurting
themselves, nope.  Hasn't happened that I'm aware of (I've been around for
about 8 years now).  Just make sure the wood is not treated with something
toxic if your horses crib and make sure the nails are totally in the wood.
