the poison oak remedy

jj niehaus jjniehaus@yahoo.com
The best long term solution for dealing with poison oak/ivy is using a product called "oral ivy." It is a solution of poison oak/ivy extract mixed in alcohol. You mix 2-5 drops in a glass of water and drink it daily for a couple of weeks. After that you can take it less regularly. This builds immunity to the poison oak/ivy oils. I've done this for two years with excellent results and i am in it all the time. I will still occasionally get a small patch of it but it doesnt spread and is really no problem. This product will also help to ease symptoms, but once you have it... you have it! I purchase oral ivy through "Forestry Suppliers." Look for them on the internet. It costs about $15.

Tips for existing poison oak.
- dont itch it.
- do not take baths, especially hot bath!
- wash with castile soap in a cool shower so you don't open pores

- other than that once you have it the only true solution is.....TIME!
