Who knows?!  But I'm glad you have Sam today.  That was a wonderful story.

Yesterday my husband and I saw a darling (medium sized) mutt in a security 
golf cart at the Holiday Inn near our farm.  We asked the security guard if 
the dog was "trained" and was "working" with him.  He explained, no, that the 
people that owned the dog were going to put him to sleep and the guard just 
couldn't let that happen so he took the dog.  He is not able to keep the dog 
permanently.  But he is keeping it until someone will give it a good home.  
We were very touched by his kindness and sweetness.  

BTW we have 5 dogs and 2 cats at this time so we don't view ourselves as 
having any "openings" right now.  All of our current pets were cast off by 
their previous owners.  Sometime during quite moments when we are surrounded 
by our 7 babies, we too, wonder about their previous homes and owners. . . . 
. . . . . (?)
