A good mare

I just bought a 4 year old mare, a Seeqo daughter out of a Karadjordje mare.
She has a good slope to her shoulder, well balanced, big hip, built to last.
Vet check SOUND! I didn't expect to buy a horse this month. But when Jan
Jeffers scooped me and bought an awesome gelding named Mondragon that I had
my eye on for a year at Lacey's Arabian Ranch, I was so disappointed I
bought her on the rebound. Anyway, I bought this mare in the dark, on a
rainy muddy night. I now like her and am ready to forgive Jan and get on
with my life.

The question: How many times a week, how many hours or miles should I start
riding this mare to get her in condition. I am going to start with NATRC to
get her ready and I once heard from Bev Tibbits it takes 3 months of
conditioning to make an open NATRC. Does that mean with a four year old or
an older horse?
