what kind of stallion?



This is somewhat of a "me too" post but with added info.  The horse with
the "endurance pedigree", even if he hasn't raced, is well worth looking
at.  My gelding's sire was a hell of a competitive trail horse,
unfortunately deceased now.  His get have proven to be as well.  But my
friend also stands 3 other stallions.  Only one of them was ever
competed (4 rides, did fine but was retired due to circumstances not
related to distance riding), but I would have no qualms about breeding
to any of the 3.  They have the older bloodlines: *Witez II, *Raffles,
Abu Farwa, etc. that have proven themselves in distance. (2 are
half-brothers to my gelding's sire.) That's what my friend bred for and
her breeding program has proven to work.  So the focus of the breeding
program would tell you a lot too.
