Re: RC: ball connector for gooseneck trailer?



Make sure the ball for your gooseneck is attached to a strong plate which
is attached to your truck FRAME.  The gooseneck ball is a larger one than
for a bumper pull and will be rated for weight capacity.  I would recommend
at LEAST at 20,000 lb. ball.  I use a 30,000. Keep it well greased...that
means EVERY time you hitch up.  Put a cover on it between trips and watch
for wear.  They usually last a LONG time, but sometimes (often depending on
the receiver on the trailer), they can wear unevenly.  Replace it if ever
in doubt.
