Re: RC: Sports Saddle questions

Susan,
To cinch the saddle, run the latigo through the git\rth twice, then
slide the tongue of the buckle through the closest hole that fits. When
a friend of mine teird to get them to put a larger ring (to use for a
tie) on the saddle, she was told they couldn't because it would interfere
with the rider's leg. so you have to use the buckle method. E-mail me
if you don't understand what I mean -- it's late!
I'd also advise getting a sports saddle girth from Teddy; she uses
elastic and they're more comfortable for the horse and easier for the
rider.
I recommend double padding (or a skito pad) becasue you put pressure on a
horse's spine without a tree. We all got white hair to show this even
though the horses were never sore. But it's worth the extra work for the
freedom of movement!
Mickie and Akela (who are both waiting for their sports saddle to come
back from rpairs
and are very glad to have a friend with a loaner!)
