Re: RC: how old can they go?



I retired my mare at 16, not because she needed to retire, but to breed her.  She
is 18 now and I plan on bring her back after she does the mom thing this time.
So she'll be back on the trail next spring.  I would assume she has quite a few
miles left.  Even when she was 9 months along she could beat the rest of the herd
in the 1/2 mile gallop to the barn at feeding time, so I think she is getting
ready to hit the trail once more.
