The Febreeze warning seems to have become an urban legend.  Although MANY 
sprays, etc., that are non-toxic to mammals can be toxic to birds (that part 
seems to be true), the active ingredient (zinc chloride--less than 1%, from 
what I understand) in Febreeze is NOT toxic to mammals.  I would avoid 
spraying it directly ON pets, as it might be irritating to their eyes, but 
otherwise it is QUITE safe.
