saddle pads and cinches
My tack is definitely beginning to look tacky...one of the problems of
living in a place without any real tack stores. We have a couple of
suppliers who can bring stuff in but otherwise I order from the US when I
have someone coming who can carry. I'd like to ask a stupid question about
saddle pads. What is this toklat that people talk about, a type of pad, a
brand of pad? I'm at a loss. I'd like to get some pads that will work well
in heat, often relatively extreme heat, and fit under a Stubben all
purpose/dressage type saddle. This is what I currently have and since both
Dorika and I find it a pretty good fit, although a bit heavy, I don't want
to change it. There's no way to try out saddles here unless you're buying a
used one, and not too many of those around. I also need to replace the
cinch sometime soon and I'm looking for something that is good for a mare
with delicate (just in case Dory's reading over my shoulder) skin. Woe
betide the individual who uses any but the softest brushes on her, and she
has such a thin coat as befits an Arab in a hot, desert climate. Any
recommendations? I have a State Line catalogue and can get hold of Millers
and Dover.
Thanks.
