Re: RC: Need help with panicky horse

Hi. After a ride one day, the same mare I'm having trouble with, loaded
into the trailer. Just as we were closing the door, (I was in the trailer),
the mare backed out. Now mind you, she was tied with the elasticized trailer
tie. She backed all the way out (stock trailer) with all 4 feet on the ground,
and that tie stretched the full length of the trailer before breaking. We
stood there with our mouths wide open not beleiving how far it stretched. You
could see all the rubber bands pulling as far as they could go. I knew it
would break but it happened so fast. She, the mare, closed her eyes and the
thing flew at her. The snap stayed in the trailer and the rest hit her like a
big rubber band. She didn't get hurt, but boy did we laugh after I caught her.
So, those trailer ties don't work too well for her. I now wait until the door
is closed and locked before hooking her up.
Thank you everyone for all of your training techniques. I'm going to try
something, but don't know which one yet. Deb
