Would a blood panel show if there was residual parasite damage?  My recently
(3 months ago) rescued colt -- 9 month old now, was very thin and was
literally (for want of a more scientfic term) pooping worms.  He had never had
anything done except throw some hay once in a while at him.  He is now a
normal, frisky, blossoming, 9 month old colt.  BUT, was there damage done to
him in his early months when he had absolutely no maintenance or care?  Any
way to tell?  Any way to correct the situation?  Any and all advice is
appreciated.  I did put him on a worming regimen recommended by Heidi and he
is now on Strongid C daily. (also on pasture, free fed forage hay, getting
about 3 pounds of Raemakers pellets and  1/2 pound Equine Senior per day.  He
looks great, is REALLY frisky (he was severely depressed at first and I
thought MAYBE I finally had a mellow Arabian -- hah hah!).  My point here is:
IS there any way to tell if you might have residual damage from early neglect?
And (more importantly, how to correct it?  Thanks for any and all advice!
