Head Tossing
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have a gelding
who has been doing 50 mile rides for several years. He has always had a
habit of tossing his head up and down for about the first ten to fifteen
miles of a ride. He typically does not do it during conditioning rides
unless I put him behind another horse. I have had chiropractic work
done on his back and there are no longer any problems there. He has
also received a new saddle which fits him much better than the last so I
don't believe there is a problem with the saddle. Recently, he started
hanging his tongue out during these rides. I have contributed these
habits to anxiety, but am not completely sure. Has anyone one else
experienced these situations?
