Re: RC: I'm a insecure Newbie

Hi Peggy,

I have to confess too - I've been riding for years and am still
overwhelmed off and on! The more I learn, the more I want to learn.

I started off a dozen years ago with a green horse that wasn't suitable
for endurance riding. I had the wrong saddle, the wrong horse, rode too
fast or too slow, trained too hard or not enough. But endurance was my
dream so I rode LD and CTR rides, helped with rides, and crewed for
people who had horses that go do the distance. Most of my friends rode
endurance, and my training rides were all a la endurance.

Last year I finally had the chance to start riding endurance again, and
even though I'd stayed involved, I still have much to learn. We all
do...

I got the procrastinator gene too, and found that the best way to
circumvent it is to volunteer to crew for good riders, or to help with
rides. And to ride with others. Weight? Yeah, me too. Two years ago I
weighed 195 pounds. As a 40+ year old woman, I figured that was it...
middle age spread. Today I weigh between 135 and 140. Something inside
me decided I needed to get with the program.

You sound like the perfect endurance prospect, Peggy... you'll do great.
