*********> IMO, AERC did a wise thing to protect the sport from this *****???

I am going to have to interject here. If AERC was trying to protect the sport
and horses from the "Yahoo Riders" who think an LD is a 'race', why did the
AERC increase LD's up to 49 miles? If a 49 mile ride is considered a
novice/training entry then the "racers" won't know any difference there
either. To me the statement that 49 miles is a Limited Distance is an
oxymoron. It's no more a Limited Distance than a 25 miler is a race.

I hope this doesn't start a new string, but the subject has been about just 25
mile LD's and they are now not limited to 25 miles.
