Without more information, my first thought is dehydration. Some horses have to
be trained to drink away from home. The lenght of your ride, the trailer ride,
etc was plenty of time for her to dehydrate. Once dehydrated, the hay she ate
could very well be too dry (without enough saliva) for her to chew and swallow
well. Just a thought!
