Hi Susan,
We present our horses with their Easyboots already on. We only use the
Easyboots when we ride. As soon as the ride is over we take the 
Easyboots off. If we happen to have a horse loose a shoe we will put
an Easyboot on to keep the hoof from being torn up until the farrier 
can get the shoe put back on. Hope this helps.....
