Arabians and distance riding

My name is Rita Schlim and I am currently Chair of the Competitive trial
ride committee for IAHA. I just returned from the board of directors
meeting and they are sending me to South Carolina to the Symposium. They
are very aware of the need to save trails and to get involved with the
pleasure and distance rider. They ask me what do the distance riders
want or need so they will join IAHA? The National Endurance ride will
be held in Calif in the bay area in 1999. The National Competitive Ride
will be held in 2000 in Northern Calif. What can we do to help you
riders come and compete in these events. We need to show the board of
directors an increase in the number of horses competing in these events.
Cory Soltau DVM is now director of Region 3 and is the board liaison for
Endurance. George McGraw is the director of Region 9 and is the liaison
for Competitive. We have the right board members for the job. We all
love our Arabians and we ride them everyday out on the trails across the
world. Let me hear from you. IAHA will listen.
Congratulations to all horses, riders and crew members that made it to
the finish line at the Tevis.
Rita Schlim, Fremont, Ca
