protection from interference

Hi Susan,

My mare suffered a ligament injury recently, and egg bar shoes were
recommended. Because of her big overstride, and the danger of her just
pulling the shoes right off, bell boots were also recommended. I was
concerned about her having to wear bell boots all the time out to pasture,
but have been assured by several sources who have also done it that it
doesn't cause any problems. The boots do have to be roomy enough to fit
all the way down to the ground to give the needed protection, but also fit
well around the pastern. You might consider this.

Another option might be to consider the "sneaker" shoe? I have no personal
experience with these, but wonder if anyone else does here- and knows
whether it can help with a horse that pulls it's shoes due to interference.
You might ask your farrier, or look up the farrier site on the net. The
sneaker shoes are expensive, that much I have been told!

Good luck-

Allyn
