Lauren, thanks for your offer to write about Yosemite.  Here's the
corrected email:
stanley_t_albright@nps.gov    (he is the park superintendent)
jerry_mitchell@nps.gov    (he is the chief of implementation of the
Y.general management plan.
   JM appears to be on the defensive, according to recent posts, and
maybe a compromise or amendment to the plan is in the works.  However,
it's practically an axiom that if something isn't specifically mentioned
in a fed. management plan, that *something* is dead.  And even if  that
*something* is mentioned but never gets funding, it's as good as dead
anyway.   
   Good luck, and thanks for writing to the Y. people.  The more the
