Re: Hauling across country alone plus dog

I've done it a lot. But don't count on KOA's out east accepting
horses. I prefer to find a fellow endurance rider who will put
up my horse, and sometimes me, too!!!

I have always had a great time yakking all night with a fellow
endurance rider somewhere when I have not been before.

We are a hospitable group.

BTW, I am 20 miles off I-64 going thru KY. If you are coming
this way, you, dog and any horse is welcome.

Has anyone done it in the winter regularly and can tell me about getting prepared. My friends think I'm nuts not hire a shipping company. I think I'm nuts if I don't get him myself as I could then control stopping, breaks, feeding etc. and health concerns etc. (Nothing against shippers I just have some concerns about hauling 24-26 hours straight.)
