Advice re: Aluminum Trailers

RideCampers: The following is a note from friend and fellow endurance rider
Laura Lewis, who is not yet "plugged in" to RideCamp but would like a little
of your sage advice with regard to aluminum trailers. If those of you who
are
in-the-know could e-mail her with your advice and comments, she'd truly
appreciate it. Thanks.

Subject: Advice re: Aluminum Trailers

Hi, Folks! I'm planning on purchasing a three-horse aluminum slant-load
trailer, and I'm just trying to decide which is the better choice -- a
Sundowner, which is aluminum with a steel frame, or a Sooner, which
apparently is all aluminum (both exterior and frame). I'm looking for
safety, stability, and durability here. It seems to me that the steel frame
could be undercoated for additional rust protection, and it would also
provide greater stability. Also, even though a steel frame may be heavier,
I've heard that the aluminum frame gets brittle with time. Any advice
and/or comments would be greatly appreciated!!
