mud deficient??

Thanks to everyone for their input regarding my mud licking/eating horses. 
I don't have any loose salt for them so will rectify that asap.  Will not
be able to report back as to whether this works though, we've just started
harvest so all riding gets put off until that's over... around the first
week or so of January.
