RE: Old Horse



Sorry if someone already suggested this. Buy alfalfa pellets and soak them
soft with water before feeding them to the old guy. this will give him a new
lease on life. They don't require chewing this way but are still hay. After
all, your horse should still be eating largely hay, not grain. Did this for
one old boarder who couldn't swallow hay well because of tumors in his
throat and a big TB that I owned in Hawaii that broke his lower jaw. That
horse ate mush for three months. He literally had to suck down slurry for
the first couple of weeks.
