Yes, Angie, it does make since.  My father almost cut 3 fingers off in a table
saw a year and a half ago.  The dr. saved his fingers and reconnected one
nerve in the ring finger.  Dad could feel the nerve growing back.  Sensation
would increase down the finger as the nerve grew toward the tip. 

I am glad you mentioned that.  That makes me feel a little better!
