To the folks with countless cumulative years of knowledge and experience on ridecamp:

My horse Spanky had a small pea shaped lump on the inside about 3 inches from the top of his left foreleg. I did not worry about this too much. You can move it around and even pull it away from his leg - there is never any heat or tenderness, so I figured it was not a threat to his health.

However - this past weekend as I was grooming him to head off for the Liberty Run ride, I felt the lump and realized that it had grown and changed shape. It is now larger and shaped more like a kidney bean than a pea.

What could this be? Should I be concerned? Should I call out the vet?

Thanks in advance!!!

Kate & Spanky (Yo, mom - what are you looking at down there?)
