Rain gear

Wendy and I have bicycling rain suits from REI Co-op. The pants are cut
with a bend which works out great on a horse. The Jackets are short enough
that they don't get caught in the saddle. The only problem is that the
pants will ride up unless one either rigs stirrups on the pants to keep them
down, or puts some sort of half chaps over them.
We could not afford Gore-Tex(tm) lined ones, but we did get the cheaper
breathable membranes. I have tried non breathable rain gear before and
found that I sweat to much underneath. These rain suit also have hook and
loop closed vents under the arms, which is great. Last weekend I wore the
jacket and as the day warmed up to the 40's I opened the vents. Worked
great.
