Dear Horse-Personality Folks:

Well, hey ~~ so far this is fun and interesting ~

15 of us indicated we couldn't get into the site ... seems like we
overloaded them! Here is the url to try again, if you are so inclined:

http://www.keirsey.com/cgi-bin/keirsey/newkts.cgi

85 more of us were able to get into the site and to respond to the survey.
Here is how that is coming together so far:

ST Guardians = 55

ESTJ - 17 ISTJ - 13 ESFJ - 13 ISFJ - 12

NF Idealists = 12

ENFJ -2 INFJ - 1 ENFP - 2 INFP - 7

NT Rationals = 10

ENTJ - 0 INTJ - 6 ENTP - 0 INTP - 4

SP Artisans = 8

ESTP - 0 ISTP - 2 ESFP - 3 ISFP - 3

The "key" to the Keirsey Bates Temperament Sorter can be found at this url:

>From the book _Type Talk_ by Kroeger & Thuesen, the letter designations mean:

I - Introvert someone who spends their time in reflection
E - Extravert spends their time involved with the things around them

S - Sensor sees the world in terms of practical facts
N - iNtuitive sees the world in terms of possibilities

T - Thinker makes decisions based on objective analysis
F - Feeler makes decisions based on subjective judgment

P - Perceiver lives life in a spontaneous, flexible way
J - Judger lives life in a decisive, orderly manner

Based on these preliminary results, then, the most of us are SJ's: seeing
the world in terms of practical facts, and living life in a decisive and
orderly manner. Within that category, whether we are introverted or
extraverted, and whether we are analyzers or subjectifiers is pretty evenly
spread ... but we *are practical, decisive and orderly in our approach to
things. seems to fit in horse-showing? what else does this say about the
folks who have horses?

NF's, the Idealists, who see the world in terms of possibilities while
feeling our way along based on our subjective view of things, are far fewer
than the SJ's in our listly horsedom. are these trail ride folks?

NT's, the Rationals among us, seeing possibilities but deciding between
them based on objective analysis of the way things are, are even fewer
than the NF's. wonder if mostly breeders fit here?

and SPers, Artisans, practical but spontaneous and flexible folk that they
are, seem to hardly to be found in this little portion of net-savvy
horsedom, but bless them that they *are among us ~ what's the horsey
equivalent to being easily accepting of the tendency for stopping to smell
the roses?

I think it will be interesting to keep the doors open to this survey until
we hear also from the folks who are no mail for the holidays ... so if
you're all willing, I'll just keep compiling until the latter part of next
week sometime and report "final" results after that.

Now, if I just knew when Guy was born, I could get his horsey horoscope and
compare it to my personality type indicator ~ we horsepeople will go to
almost any length to indulge our equine interests, won't we? <g> I can say
that, now, 'cause finally I are one ~

*thanks to all for participating! share with your no mail friends and
let's add to our survey base ~

thanks again, and enjoy ~

jo
