Greetings from a new guy.Would the pace at a twenty-five generally be fa
ster than that of a fifty or a 100? Or,do the more advanced riders not
fool with the shorter events?

Hi Ray,
It depends on the day and such, but if you look at the times ridden, most
of the time, the 50 milers do the loops faster than the 25 milers. Of
course, that does vary, but we have looked at it a lot and we did find the
50 milers were able and willing to do it faster . Please, I am not trying
to open up a discussion or flamefest about LD vs. open:-)).

Some advanced riders will fool with shorter events in order to bring along
a young horse or to restart one coming back from an injury . OThers will
not bothr with the shorter events at all. It just depends on the person.
there is nothing wrong with starting with the shorter event though!!

an endurance ride, at least the 25 mile version!!:-)) the only way to
know for sure is to just go and watch one, help a bit, managers are always
glad to have extra hands to help!!! Get a feel for how it goes, then
bring your horse and try it!! You will be glad you did...well, if it
doesn
t rain...you might want to rethink the spandex idea . At least don
t wear jeans! those hurt after a few hours in the rain and in the
saddle.:-)) Good luck!!
