Now, I've never managed a CMO but have ridden in them before. Our group
has two different courses set up. One for beginners which is a shorter
distance with more clues and a longer distance with fewer clues. Our
group used plastic pie plates with the names of different animals on
them as the treasure to find. The group of riders that got back the
fastest with the most amount of trteasures found is the winner. All the
teams have the same maps and coordinance clues. The winners are usually
people who know the trails very well and can read a compass well. What
good teams do is split up and go after different treasure and the meet
back as fast as they can.

There is a CMO on the endurance net I believe as well and they can give
you detailed info when you go there under "groups".
