Good posts, several of you.....

1. Please someone explain in not too many words what a CRI is and how
it is different than taking pulse and respiration. I Feel I should know
this, I probably need reminding...

2. LD events....that is where maybe some tighter controls should be
used and to help people with heavier animals...Quarterhorses...some
Morabs I know....learn to keep a careful watch on their beasts,
especially as they are new to the sport too... Of course a horse
should be tired after hauling your butt all over acreage...but you are
required to know the boundaries or the consequences can be pretty hard
to take.

There are exceptions in every breed, but I know my horse isn't a 100%
endurance minded maybe someday 100 miler arab, and the place for him
seems to be 25-50 miles thus far. So I'll probably ride him in these
LD events for a long time to come and enjoy his potential.
You can be sure I'll still give him the top food I'm able and worry
about his well being...as if he were a "100" mile horse. He's my 100%
horse..

Bob Morris, if you had a youngster, with all your knowledge,
experience and desire to top ten, would you stay in the 25's for a
while, or not bother with such a beast?

Did you know there are plenty of people who stay in the 25's and
compete in them. Yes, some maybe should go the next step. But they
choose the 50's are too long and time consuming for them so stay at the
25's. I don't see anything wrong with this...

Good posts all, knowledge and trading of ideas is key...
