filthy coat

I hope you all won't laugh at me but here in the great NE it has been under
20 deg at night when I ride already. I'm afraid to use water, even warm
water at those temps, so I'll ride right into the barn. Before the ride,
I've put a thermal blanket into the dryer. I put this warm layer on and a
cooler over it and put him in the stall. In about an hour, he is dry and
I've finished dinner. I'll then put him in crossties curry the coat and then
"blow" his coat out with a high force air blower. It took a bit to get him
used to this but you should see all that comes out. I blow and seperate all
the hairs then brush again, vacum and brush again. Sounds complicated but
really take only a few minutes. He can then go back out and roll if he wants.

PS: When it is warm enough for water I bring it to the barn in a 5 gallon
jug type cooler. It stays hot in those things for hours. You know the kind
they have for water at construction sites they are usually orange.
