Funny you should post this -- I was just about to send you an email and
ask whether you had received any responses to your questions. I was
thrilled when I read them, because those are EXACTLY the questions
running through my mind (only some of many, I assure you :) and I eagerly
awaited responses ... and was very disappointed to find not one. I was
planning to ask that you share with me any private responses you had
received, as I am very eager to get this kind of information.

Instead, I will now ask that all who responded to you privately, PLEASE
post to the list! I am certain that other newbies like me are really
wanting to hear that kind of information, which I haven't found in the
archives or in the Rider's Handbook, etc.

Yeah, there's always the chance you'll get slammed, sorry but it's true,
it happens, but please don't let that stop you from sharing your very
valuable experience with those of us who are just starting out. The next
nearest endurance rider to me is nearly 100 miles away, so this list is
the only real contact I have with endurance riders. This 90% of my learning
on this subject. And I'm sure I'm not alone here. But this list will
only be as valuable a resource as the subscribers make it. We need full
participation!
