If your horse has enough fat over his ribs but has boney hips, perhaps you
should look at his hoof balance. I have found that if they are not moving
correctly (pulling themselves - moving on the forehand), hey will have very
boney prominent hips. If there is not a high enough angle on the hind feet,
the 'hunters bump' will be more prominent, and the point of hip will be more
prominent (among other things). I will try and type a post later today on
hoof balance/boney hips.
