Feedbag

If your talking about a feedbag for a horse to eat grain out of, my
grandfather used old milking buckets. (Fortex bucket today) Grandfather
would remove the handle and tie on enough length of string to fit over
the horse's head, yet short enough to keep the bucket hanging over his
nose when the head was lifted. Sometimes holes were punched in the
bottom of the bucket to prevent the horse from drowning if he had access
to a water trough. Fist sized rocks were added to the bucket if the
horse tossed his head while eating from the bucket.

On wilderness camp trips my grandfather would use burlap feed sacks that
we packed the grain in with. Fold the sack in half by pulling the top
half down over the bottom half. Then slip rocks or pine cones up inside
the corners and tie twine around the rock. Use enough twine to go over
the horses head. My dad would cut the excess bag flaps off and use them
to sit on.

Hope this helps you out.
