Well..today was a good one.
I called the John Lyons office about 2 months ago.. to see if I could get
inthe 6 day session/ hands on clinic at Alphraetta Ga the weekend of 24 Oct.
It was full..

Well today I got in..I am thrilled.
I and Omni get to spend Fri to Wed with Mr Lyons.

I have been reading his training pub-- The Perfect Horse --for the past year,
seen all his videos, and read parts of his book..
We have applied much of his methods to our horses , both the old ones and the
new ones.
I am sure that after this session many of the problems I am having with Omni
will be resolved --and I hope to be able to apply his methods to my other
horses too.

I believe John is one of the best trainers around, I sure am pleased to be
able to attend his clinic.
Maybe after this clinic ..and the prior clinic with Donna Synder Smith and
my dressage session/lessons.. I may just learn how to really work as one with
my horses.
Thats what I like about this sport.. never stop learing.. how to do it
better.. just point the horse down the trail and hang on does not cut it.

I may have to cut out of a few competitions this fall.. these clinics are not
cheap..but the end results will improve my riding to the benefit of my
horses.

This is going to be a great time. I have not yet bonded with Omni .. maybe
this will be the key to get us connected..

A post note on our clinic with DSS. We and Donna had to drop our plans for a
fall session here at the farm. We are now looking at a full 3 or 4 day
session this spring.
We will post to both the CTR and End list when we get a firm date.
Hopefully our place will be in better shape by next spring.. like a bridge
across the creek to be able to park the rigs and offer decent camping. and
a ring to work in vs the pasture.
