Pigeon fever is happening now in No. Cal. too. Found some good info on
it in the netvet. Check other links to horsey stuff from endurance
homepage or Saddle Up to find it.

The abcess from what I understand is the final stage of this disease,
caused from bacteria carried by a fly to open sores.
