How about those "direction challanged" people that tend to get lost. Many
years ago at the OD, a rider got lost for 3 hours and still came in second!
Now if this had happened during the first part of the ride, she would have
been pulled for being over-time. It is hard to give up 3 hours and make
the first check before cutoff. But it happened later when there was
sufficient "time in the bank". This is another problem with cut-offs.
