Hey!! The daddy that finished so far behind his daughter came into camp
with her. It was just that his horse didn't meet criteria of 60 beats per
minute as quickly as her horse did. And since quite a few horses were
presenting at that time, she wound up in front of him by that many
horses!! He didn't leave her on the trail.

also, AERC has fairly strict guidelines as to a sponser not being more
than 1 minute ahead of or behind a JR on trail. If you are sponsering a
Jr and you let that Jr go on or pull up, you are in danger of being
disqualified yourself plus having your JR disqualified.

I would like to say that this IS a 2 way street. I have sponsered many
Jr. riders, and have had them try to run off and leave me before. I have
also had one stop on trail and pitch a mini tantrum and refuse to budge
the horse until I managed to talk some sense into him...actually in the
mini tantrum incident, I simply said OK, we will sit here til dark for all
I care, I dismounted and found a nice sunny patch of grass, then proceeded
to stretch out like I was preparing to take a nap. Hehehe, he changed his
tune pretty quickly then!!

I love sponsoring Jr riders, but they can be a tad trying at times!!
Mostly they just help keep me young and having fun!
