Choking on pellets is a problem. However, when I feed pellets
I let them soak firts... about 15 minutes in cold water... until
they are fluffy and no longer even look like pellets. All of the
horses I have fed this to eat it just fine. Soaking elliminates
the issue of choking as well as any swelling that might occur in
the GI tract. Also, soaked pellets make a nice base for the
rest of the suppliments, rice bran and grain.

Enough water to cover the pellets, soak and stir with one of those
nice large expensive wooden spoons. The spoon is important.
