This is what I do (don't laugh!). I take them out of the saddle pad (wash
that separately)...then put the inserts in a bathtub filled with lukewarm
water. In order to get them submersed, you have to get on top of them,
either use your knees or stand on them. You don't need to put a lot of
water in the tub...just a few inches, enough to cover the pads. I don't
use any soap.

Let the pads try, then use tape to pull off all the horse hair. (or pull
the hair off first) I haven't found anything else that will pull the hair
off of (brushing doesn't work, it's stuck in there pretty good). I use the
kind of tape that you would use to seal up a box for shipping.

Does anybody else have any other ideas?
