Pulling the front legs forward one at a time (with the forearm of the
horse out in front, pull up a bit (hold leg above the knee), not
hard) does not bother my horse, unwrinkles the skin reducing
liklihood of girth galls, and may 'stretch' her some--she seems to go
better if I do this before getting on. It might just be improved
girth comfort. Btw, does anyone know if horses that have had galls
in the past are more likely to get them again, or is that just an old
wives tale?
