AERC Pre-Conference Seminar?

Ramey & Cynthia and Ridecampers -
I'm really glad that AERC is considering a pre-convention seminar. The
one described doesn't interest me personally because I'm looking for more
practical, hand-on stuff I can take home and apply to my own horse &
training program. I'd be much more interested in talks about feed,
shoeing, conformation, saddle fit, conditioning (both horse and rider!),
training, horse/stable management, ride strategy, ride preparation
(trailering, what to wear & bring, crewing, etc.)
The variety of people involved in endurance is fantastic. It's clear,
though, from reading the posts here, that there are a lot of people fairly
new to even owning a horse much less participating in such a high demand
sport. It seems to me that one of the mandates for AERC as the sanctioning
body for the sport is to get the best of info about horses, horse care,
riding and the sport out to members and the horseworld at large. In fact,
I think by doing this our sport can set itself apart from other horse sports.
Happy trails, Laney
