I made 4 or 5 polar fleece coolers from cheap polar fleece from the
fabric store. The colour isn't pretty but they work.
I used wide velcro in the front and heavy elastic for under the tail.
I added more velcro at the sides so that i can use them as a liner and
velcro them to my heavy winter blanket when it is really cold. (in
Alberta we know cold)
I like them because after winter riding I can layer them and they absorb
sweat and I can pull them out from under the other blankets always
leaving a dry one next to skin.
They also wash great.
If Steph says it is okay I will put a horse blanket pattern I have on
ridecamp. They are easy to make and cost $$$$ less.
Gortex is not readily available but dermaflex is the same stuff just
generic and cheaper.
I can get it locally and will mail it to those who want some. I'll
check on prices monday.
We also have a girl who does blankets custom and ships any where. I can
contact her. I don't believe she is on line.
Check the archives for info to. We discussed this in great detail last
year.
