simply does not dispose of her winter coat as readily as she did in her youth
and in addition does not carry only an appropriate "California Winter Coat"
either, and so we DO clip her, like TODAY :). Her otherwise abundant coat is
replaced by a carefully chosen lightweight blanket, and she has done
wonderfully with this plan the ast 2 seasons. At her age, we never dreamed
that she would still be showing, competing and "teaching", but she is and so
we have found this necessary. Of course, ouf other 6 horses don't have this
need, not even our stallion. I think his overactive hormones keep him warm:).
